About the Opportunity

This role provides strategic leadership to ASC’s Corporate Procurement teams – Support Services and Transformation & Partnerships. As Head of Corporate Procurement based in Osborne, SA, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing long-term corporate procurement and contracting strategies aligned with ASC’s submarine programs to sustain nuclear submarines, as well as Collins class Submarine Sustainment. A fundamental aspect of the role is to develop the future strategy, team structure, operating model and building a positive culture to meet evolving business needs in a high level of ambiguity, accountability and exposure. This role will have a strategic aspect with the need to positively manage internal, external and international stakeholder relationships in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement long-term procurement strategies aligned with ASC’s submarine programs, including nuclear and Collins class sustainment.
Lead medium-term sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management to support strategic goals.
Drive procurement savings and manage supply chain risks to ensure value for money and operational efficiency.
Build and develop team capability, fostering a high-performance & positive culture and supporting professional growth.
Shape future strategy, team structure, and operating models to meet evolving business needs in a complex environment.
Engage and collaborate with internal, external, and international stakeholders, including suppliers and capability partners.
Ensure compliance with governance, legal, and policy frameworks, including WHS and diversity policies.
Establish and maintain effective procurement governance processes, including risk identification and mitigation.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of a Procurement Centre of Excellence.

About you

To be considered for this permanent full-time opportunity it is imperative that you display expertise across the following key areas:

A Bachelor’s degree qualification or demonstrated significant experience in commerce, law, supply chain or engineering is essential.
Minimum 10 years of experience in senior supply chain roles in a defence, manufacturing, mining or heavy industry environment.
Experience with Foreign Military Sale (FMS) or similar government-to-government commercial models
Experience in change leadership scaling a corporate procurement team in size, complexity and scope.
In-depth knowledge of Procurement strategy, governance and best practices.
Proven ability to operate as a team player at senior management level to effectively collaborate with internal and external customers to achieve business objectives.
Knowledge of enterprise risk management, business continuity planning, financial reporting, budgeting and business case development.
Strategic mind-set with proactive planning and intervention.
Demonstrated experience in internal and external stakeholder management.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances.
