About the role this role is everything you would expect a junior accountant to do. But, we are an established and well funded startup so you'll get to do more as well. You'll understand and maintain customer accounts and billing under the ndis (national disability insurance scheme) including managing a variety of payment methods accepted of participants, daily bank account and credit card reconciliations, make claims of proda bulk upload payments, and issues resolution, ownership of accounts payable function, review invoices, ownership of accounts receivable function and liaise with customer services team to ensure the timely collection, completion and accuracy of records including credit notes and customers' enquiries management, supporting the customer billing process, maintain and update customers details in system, assisting with month end close and preparation of monthly reports as well as management reports, assisting with the preparation of ias, bas and payroll tax, assisting with monthly payroll, related calculations, and entering data in order to maintain and update payroll information and reconcile the transaction in accounting system, prepare fortnightly pay run, managing employee expense reimbursements. Skills and experience relevant university accounting degree, minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role, hands on xero experience (salesforce or similar experience a bonus), excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to be a good team player, positive attitude and fast faced, ability to work well under pressure, priorities & multitask effectively, excellent organisation and time management skills, a positive and energetic approach to the challenges of a high-growth start-up, commitment to kinela's values generosity, empathy, integrity, courage and optimism.
