KEY ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Bids and Projects Manager, you are accountable for:

Responsible for the successful completion of a Project/ Projects, within budget, schedule and to the required technical performance, and is responsible for all industrial and commercial aspects of the Program.
Providing the primary interface between Thales and the Commonwealth, or other customers/ stakeholders, on all management issues relating to the Program
Will be responsible for all senior/ executive level engagement with the Commonwealth.
Conducting progress meetings, ad hoc meetings and contract performance reviews to report on project status to the Commonwealth, other customers/ stakeholders and Thales management.
Creating and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation through the application of strong leadership and vision.
Coordinating and being responsible for directing, planning, scheduling and budgeting all work to be undertaken.
Monitoring, controlling and reporting the cost performance of the overall Program
Monitoring, controlling and high-level reporting of schedule performance of the overall Program, including authorising corrective actions related to schedule variance
Monitoring, controlling and high-level reporting of the overall Program risks and opportunities
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT or related discipline
Postgraduate Project Management Training to Masters or Advanced Diploma level or international equivalent; or equivalent work experience of a large Program
Postgraduate Business Studies preferred
Accreditation with a Project Management certifying body e.g. IPMA level B preferred
Strong understanding of Export Approvals and compliance (including ITAR).
Holding or eligible for Department of Defence security clearance to Negative Vetting Level 1 (minimum).

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Fulfils the criteria of ‘Program Manager’ category as described in Thales QMS (Chorus 2.0) reference system
Minimum of 5 years proven management ability in project management or complex service delivery.
Understanding of training and simulation systems.
Contract and subcontract management
Customer liaison – including meeting with the customer in either formal or informal meetings to discuss the status of the Project, current issues and future work
Directing risk management – including identifying new risks, reviewing existing risks, retiring completed risks, assigning financial implications of risks, and developing mitigation strategies and plans
