Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is currently seeking a motivated and reliable Trades Assistant – For our Aerodrome/Aviation operations to join our growing family and Western Australian owned business! This is an exciting opportunity to support critical airside works across Australia as part of a respected aviation services provider.

About the Role

The Trades Assistant will play a key role in supporting the safe and effective delivery of line marking and aerodrome maintenance projects. The position involves assisting with the preparation, mobilisation, and operation of vehicles and equipment, and ensuring adherence to company procedures and safety standards. This role will Contribute to the delivery of vital aviation infrastructure projects across regional and remote Australia. Travel to regional and remote locations and aerodromes—including extended stays—are an essential requirement of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the setup and execution of line marking tasks on airport runways, taxiways, and aprons

• Undertake general airside maintenance including minor runway repairs, concreting, painting and various other technical duties

• Assist with the preparation, loading, and transport of tools, vehicles, and materials

• Operate basic plant and equipment under supervision

• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of tools, vehicles, and equipment

• Adhere to work health and safety (WHS), environmental, and quality management procedures

• Contribute to a positive and professional team environment

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to undertake regular travel. You will enjoy practical, hands-on work in an outdoor and remote setting and be comfortable working as part of a close-knit and mobile team.

• Demonstrated reliability and enthusiasm for practical work

• Physically fit and capable of manual labour in varied environmental conditions

• Willingness to travel frequently, including overnight trips to remote locations

• White Card (Construction Induction Training) or willingness to obtain

• Previous experience in line marking, civil construction, or similar trade-related fields

• An interest in aviation or infrastructure works

• Manual driver’s licence (MR class licence desirable)
