Senior Power Systems Technician Phillip Riley location Auckland.

This boutique NZ company serves a diverse clientele across sectors such as power generation, transmission, distribution, mining, and medium-voltage industrial operations. Due to ongoing success we are searching for an experienced Power Systems Technician who can work within a small collaborative team or autonomously on a diverse range of projects.

Key Responsibilities for this role include commission, test, and maintain high-voltage (HV) protection systems and schemes. Oversee the commissioning, testing, and maintenance of HV substation secondary systems and primary equipment. Manage the commissioning, testing, and upkeep of various HV and low-voltage (LV) plant assets.

Provide leadership and supervision for maintenance and project work packages. Prepare comprehensive commissioning and testing documentation, including protection test plans and detailed technical reports upon project completion. Offer technical support and expertise to clients.

The ideal candidate we are searching for someone that has a flexible 'can do' attitude, works well with a range of people whether that be internal, external teams or clients. This position also has a high degree of autonomy and would suit someone who has experienced a range of situations and is good at problem solving. This role requires some travel to undertake assignments across various locations.

Ideal qualifications and experience possession of an Electrical Practicing License from the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) is essential. A Power Technician qualification or a Diploma in Power Systems is highly desirable. A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience.

Familiarity with applicable AS/NZS and international standards, as well as industry best practices. Demonstrated ability to uphold high standards of safety and professionalism, coupled with effective communication skills for interaction with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Proven proficiency in using the Omicron suite of equipment for primary and secondary system testing.
