Moolarben Coal Operations are seeking a highly motivated Water Supervisor to join the team. Reporting to the Water Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of a large reverse osmosis water treatment plant and miscellaneous water assets all whilst ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and water quality standards. This position plays a key role in delivering operational excellence through the effective leadership of a multiskilled team as well as appropriately managing stakeholder relationships and plant resources.
Job Tasks and responsibilities oversee the daily operation of the water treatment plant ensuring effective, efficient, and compliant environmental discharge and potable water production. Perform and monitor process sampling and testing to scrutinise plant performance.
Manage maintenance and operational activities, create relevant reports, and assist in the identification of capital expenditure needs. Manage plant expenditure in alignment with the budget. Lead minor CAPEX or OPEX projects as required.
Develop and improve operational practices to maximise plant efficiency and ensure the safe and compliant production and distribution of potable water. Work with the Water Superintendent and other technical experts in the identification and resolution of complex or unusual plant issues.
Lead and mentor staff and ensure compliance with quality assurance practices. Develop strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and addressing evolving needs and issues. Ensure suppliers meet their obligations and adhere to performance standards.
Skills and experience relevant Tertiary qualifications with experience in water treatment; or an Operator or Tradesperson with 10+ years of water treatment experience including reverse osmosis operation and maintenance. Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications with extensive experience in the use of SCADA and Telemetry Systems.
Recognised proficiency with chemical handling, storage, and dosing systems. Ability to interpret analytical and other data to inform corrective actions and process improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability in leading teams, providing effective communication, driving performance, and fostering a positive working culture. Demonstrated experience in the management of budgets. An understanding of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. A current Driver's Licence.
Desirable criteria certificate III in Water Operations or higher. High risk licenses including forklift and EWP. Experience in confined spaces and working at heights.
