The opportunity this advertisement is an expression of interest for a potential position as a Workshop Manager located in the North-Wester region of Sydney. The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing the operations of the specialised steel workshop.

The Workshop Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the workshop facility. They are responsible for leading a skilled team, managing resources, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of the organisation through effective workshop operations.

The Key responsibilities oversee and coordinate workshop operations to achieve production targets, ensuring compliance with budgets and schedules. Plan and manage manufacturing resources for example, the people, material and equipment. Plan and manage internal maintenance activities to optimise workshop facility.

Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational capability. Ensure all activities and equipment adhere to legal and regulatory standards. Work with the HR Team to assist with recruitment, training, and development of workshop employees. Manage staff performance, training compliance, and succession planning to meet departmental goals.

Foster effective communication and maintain positive industrial relations in collaboration with HR. Promote and ensure compliance with corporate work and health safety policies and standards. Analyse safety performance, identify hazards, and implement improvement plans. Collaborate across departments to drive a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The Ideal candidate 7-10 years’ experience in a specialised steel fabrication workshop and experience leading a team with the ability to motivate and inspire the team to achieve production targets and maintain quality standards. Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and regulations. Ability to use MS Office (outlook, word, excel etc.)

Desirable qualified as a welding inspector (Australian standard).
