About the organisation Warlga Ngurra Women and Children’s Refuge is a leading Aboriginal Specialist Homelessness Service that responds to women, with or without accompanying children, who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless due to domestic violence. Their services include court support, children’s activities, outreach support, advocacy, housing support, child support and referrals.

About the role - Accounts Assistant/bookkeeper we are looking for a motivated and confident individual to join our team on a casual basis. This key player will be instrumental in the operations and in helping our team achieve it’s goals.

This position primarily focuses on accounts, with additional duties as needed. Requiring a commitment to meet objectives ensuring high quality financial service and administrative support. Being female is a genuine Occupational Qualification to offer appropriate service to women and children under section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act.

Remuneration a remuneration package will be paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Homecare and Disability Services Industry Award, plus superannuation and salary sacrifice available. Wages can be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Skills required accounting 1 year (required). Xero and Microsoft: 1 year (required). Accounts Payable/Receivable data entry. Payroll Processing within Xero. Google programs. Good written and verbal communication skills. Respect for sensitivity and confidentiality of issues handles. Strong attention to details. Positive, friendly attitude and team player.

Licence/Certification. Australia (required). Working with Children’s Check. Police Check. Work Location. In person at Wallsend NSW 2287.

Tasks of the position data entry. Reporting from Xero as required. Use of Excel. Centre pay deductions/income receipts. Assistance with End of Month reconciliations. Liaise with external accountants, auditors and Board members as required. Miscellaneous accounts/admin tasks as required.
