About the opportunity this is an opportunity for potential relocation for a candidate with suitable child protection experience, senior leadership experience, and that holds a relevant tertiary qualification.

About the role IFYS has an exciting new senior leadership structure within our Residential Care program. The new structure will see the appointment of three Operations Managers who will report into the State Manager – Residential Care.

As the Operations Manager you will champion the delivery of excellent practice, appropriately respond to and manage risk and provide strong leadership and development for staff. Utilising your industry expertise you will influence the strategic direction and decision making of the region, and act as an ambassador for IFYS developing and maintaining collaborative multidisciplinary stakeholder partnerships that will lead to positive outcomes for young people.

Locations North Queensland, overseeing: Townsville, Mackay, Cairns and Cairns Tablelands. Central Queensland, overseeing: Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Rockhampton and Gladstone. South Queensland, overseeing: Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Park Ridge and Greenbank. Work based from an IFYS office at one of the following locations Townsville, Mackay, Cairns, Maroochydore, Caboolture, Hervey Bay, Rockhampton and Ipswich.

Key responsibilities of this role include lead and motivate a team of Regional Managers to continuously improve their performance and development, service delivery, operational efficiencies, and partnerships. Manage all aspects of IFYS service delivery within the area to the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) Standards.

Identify and assess risks to young people, staff and the organisation and respond appropriately. Maintain adherence to all requirements outlined in service agreements and contracts. Work with the Finance team to set, implement and review budgets, ensuring that all programs' budgets are adhered to, and best value principles of expenditure are maintained.

Work with Shared Services to ensure all programs and employees are adequately resourced to fulfil their roles effectively. Initiate and develop strong purposeful collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders. Actively innovate, improve practice methodology, internal processes, and systems of undertaking business.

Assist in strategic planning and identifying growth opportunities (including grants and tenders). Ensure the timely and accurate completion of administrative duties including reports, finance documentation and business case submissions within required timeframes.

Who are we looking for this role requires a skilled leader in the child protection sector, with proven ability to oversee multiple programs. You will be well versed in contemporary practice frameworks and passionate about leading your teams to strive for the highest standard of service delivery. We are looking for someone with a high level of governance, who knows how to manage complex situations while maintaining integrity and relationships.

This role requires regular travel across the programs within your portfolio, and occasionally throughout Queensland for training or essential meetings. Essential criteria to be successful in this role a tertiary qualification in Human Services or related is desirable. Experience in a senior management role, overseeing programs that support vulnerable people with complex needs (preferably in Child Protection and/or Residential Care, similar backgrounds will be considered).

A strong understanding of trauma informed care, culturally safe practice and relevant legislation related to Child Protection programs. Knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by First Nations young people. Experience managing significant budgets of multiple programs and funding streams. A valid paid Blue Card and the ability to obtain a Licensed Care Services Suitability Screening
