This is an exciting time to be joining Palmerston North Airport Ltd, as we embark on a $40m project of rebuilding the Airport Terminal.  We are currently looking for an additional Terminal Operations Officer to ensure a safe, secure, and efficient flow of passengers and visitors through the Airport, and provide excellent customer service.

The role applications are being sought for a Terminal Operations Officer. We welcome suitable applicants from all backgrounds and sectors to apply for the role. You must be physically fit and able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment, and an Aviation Security check.  You will be working on a 7-day roster with duty hours being between 5am and 10.30pm.

What are the duties of the role assist the PNAL team to maintain aerodrome operations and protect public safety. Manage vehicle flows in the PNAL car parks, taxi ranks, and pick-up/drop-off areas. Provide security coverage through a combination of CCTV surveillance, on-foot and vehicular patrols. Assist in maintaining a tidy and presentable Terminal. Respond to on-airport emergency situations. Act as Building Warden during fire evacuations/drills.

What sort of person do we need we need pro-active team members with a positive disposition, and the ability to communicate accurately and confidently with a diverse range of people across different levels; someone who can work autonomously but also as part of a team. You will need to be competent and calm in high-pressure situations. Ongoing training is a requirement of the role, so you will need to be open to new learnings and ideas, able to analyse problems, and offer solutions.
