Library Assistant Trainee AFL SportsReady Ltd location Sydney. $26,000 – $39,000 per year.

About the role ArtsReady is a program of AFL SportsReady, specifically designed to provide opportunities for creative jobseekers to start their careers with confidence, qualifications and skills. In partnership with the City of Sydney, ArtsReady currently has an exciting position available for someone wanting to pursue a career in the Arts & Creative industry.

As the successful applicant, you will be employed by AFL SportsReady, as part of our ArtsReady program. Work on-site with City of Sydney Libraries. Study for an accredited qualification: Certificate III in Business or Library and Information Services.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide effective support to the City of Sydney Library team to contribute to the successful delivery of various events and programs. The position is a full-time (38hrs/wk), 12 month traineeship role, commencing in March 2024.

Duties & responsibilities provide quality customer service to all Library users. Provide technology assistance to all Library users. Assist Library staff in delivering core library services, including circulation services at the staff pod. Assist in the delivery of Library programs and activities, including Adults, Children’s, Youth, Outreach and IT programs.

What we're looking for in a candidate permanent right to work in Australia. Have a satisfactory pass in the Higher School Certificate or equivalent. Genuine interest to work in the library and information sector. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. Customer service oriented. Working with Children Check or ability to obtain prior to commencement. Desirable to hold Drivers License and Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate.

Salary national Training Wage Award ($26,000 – $40,000 plus 11% Superannuation). Fully Funded Qualification.
