This is a full-time position on the carnivore section at Auckland Zoo that includes working weekends and public holidays. About you, you will work as part of the team responsible for the daily husbandry and management of the zoo's carnivore collection providing best practice husbandry through the demonstration of a sound understanding of the five domains of animal welfare and their relevance in a modern zoo.
Good team fit is essential, and the successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to positively contribute to an efficient and high performing team. Strong organisational skills, with a proactive approach to your own learning and development, along with a solutions-focused approach to problem solving is a must.
To be considered for this role candidates should hold a Certificate in Captive Wildlife Management and/or relevant degree or experience. Have a current full New Zealand driver's license or be able to attain one. Preference will be given to experience with dangerous carnivores. In addition to this a high level of energy and physical fitness will enable you to meet the daily challenges of this role.
