Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC) is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support its Central West Contact Service Program.
About Central West Contact Service WSCLC’s Central West Contact Service (CWCS) program provides a safe space for children from families experiencing conflict to spend time with the parent they are not currently living with. The service also provides a safe place for children to go from one parent to another parent (changeover) while providing safety to both parents and children. The service operates in a context of significant family conflict and high emotions. Staff need to be calm and impartial.
Purpose of Position The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing the day to day administrative functions for CWCS. The Administrative Assistant will report to the CWCS Manager. Location Harris Park, NSW. Duration Part-Time, 4 days per week (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) to 30 June 2024 (current funding period, possibility of extension, subject to funding). Hours: 9am - 5pm. Remuneration Social Community Home Care and Disability Services (SCHCADS) Award 2010 - Level 3, plus Superannuation.
Key Responsibilities include undertake receptionist duties (answering phone calls and maintaining diary). To prepare correspondence to clients and undertake general financial administration. To enter data on client contacts and use other computer applications such as spreadsheets. To keep records of incoming and outgoing correspondence.
To file papers and documents on client and other CWCS files. To prepare Subpoenas in a timely manner and maintain the Subpoena database. Meeting the WHS responsibilities of a staff member at WSCLC. Undertake other administrative duties as directed.
Selection criteria proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook). Ability to prioritise workload and work independently. Ability to prepare Subpoenas. Clear understanding of confidentiality. Ability to deal with distressed and aggressive clients. Excellent communication skills. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Essential current Working with Children Check, NSW Police Check, COVID-19 Vaccination.
