About the role the purpose of Te Tari Pūreke, Firearms Safety Authority business unit is to enable New Zealand to be a world leader in arms safety through an effective regulatory and administrative approach to the Arms Act and Arms Regulations. Established to lead, operate, and develop investment in modernisation of the firearms system, which will result in a more efficient and effective risk-based licensing system, and shall improve public confidence in the firearms licensing system.

The modernisation of the Arms Regulatory System will take every opportunity to prevent harm through transparent, high quality, consistent, legislatively correct, and effective regulatory activities. This will also cover world leading administration, education, and promotion of compliance within the provisions of the Arms Act and Arms Regulations.

The Regulator will earn trust and confidence by working together in partnership with other policing groups, iwi, the firearms community, wider New Zealand public and other agencies and organisations to achieve collective impact. As an Administrator Officer you will provide comprehensive administration service that supports the efficient and effective functioning of the Group.

We are looking for an administration whizz, to join the Registry team, delivering on day-to-day administration tasks within a busy service team. Lots of varied administration tasks will suit someone who can think on their feet, and who embraces a change based environment. You can be based in either Auckland or Wellington in either Rugby House, Wellington or in Federal St, Auckland.

Key accountabilities maintain accurate, secure, and timely correspondence, information, and records. Provide accurate recording, updating, and retrieval of information. Support via digital and non-digital channels. Provide effective and professional emails to internal and external parties. Adhere to the Service Excellence and Quality Assurance standards during all interactions.

What you'll bring a confident knowledge of computers, Microsoft products and systems. Strong administration skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise your work. Energy and a can-do, positive, proactive attitude. A high standard of written and oral communication skills. Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships. Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work for self/others. Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
