Workplace Administrator Oranga Tamariki location Canterbury.

Join a great and supportive team and grow your administration experience with Youth Justice. Permanent role is situated at 171 Pages Road, Christchurch. Administration support will be provided across Waitaha Youth Justice and will require some travel between sites.

About the role applications are invited from experienced people with excellent office skills to the position of Workplace Administrator at Christchurch Youth Justice. As an employee of, Oranga Tamariki, you will support our Oranga Tamariki youth justice staff.

Be responsible for all the administration needs of your Youth Justice collegues. Liaise with Oranga Tamariki Social Work sites, the Multiagency partners, and other stakeholders. Be willing to assist other sites should the need arise, and capacity allows. Work with various cultural groups and people from different backgrounds.

Process and maintain all administration functions for court and family group conferences, word processing, stationery and printing, receipting referrals, dealing with enquiries, filing, ordering, reception services and record keeping in accordance with the Ministry's policies and practices.

Operate and ensure on-going maintenance and upkeep of all communication equipment and systems, including photocopies, TRIM, mail, filing and contact lists. Deal with critical scenarios in a calm, professional manner. Assist with on-site health, safety and security compliance systems and training as appropriate.

What you will bring key requirements of the role include understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture Demonstrated work experience in administration.

Confidence and experience using Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Word and technical capacity to quickly learn Oranga Tamariki's digital information and management systems such as CYRAS and TRIM. Excellent attention to detail with effective organisation and prioritisation skills.

A bright personality, initiative, a good level of resilience to work in this unique environment, and a confidential and proactive approach. Great relationship skills with the ability to work as part of a team and add support as and where needed.

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience. A positive outlook and supporting nature. Basic accounting and numeracy skills. An understanding of Te Reo would be an advantage.
