Where you'll be working Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing to support the Director of Paediatrics and Heads of Department by providing high level, executive business, secretarial and administrative support within a busy, complex, confidential and sensitive environment.

The role encompasses the need for excellent written and verbal communication skills, the need to be exceptionally organised and efficient, to use initiative, think analytically, to problem solve and to play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality responses are disseminated in a timely manner.

This role will also provide relief and support to other Executive Team as determined. People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustment consistent with industry standard.

Blacktown hospital car parking allocation model is changing. There is a managed waitlist for parking for new staff commencing at Blacktown Hospital. This does not apply to staff with a disability parking permit.

Selection criteria demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to prepare and review complex correspondence within a senior executive environment.

Demonstrated experience in providing high level administrative assistance and support to a senior executive in a complex and busy environment, supported by a demonstrated capacity to exercise initiative and judgement.

Proven high level organisation skills including the ability to problem solve, prioritise workload, multi-task and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to independently and effectively manage the diary and emails of a busy senior executive and competently make decisions and progress issues on their behalf.

Demonstrated ability to interpret complex information and advice and use discretion in knowing when to escalate matters of importance and/or urgency. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as conscientiously working to team goals and values.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to exercise sound judgement in challenging or difficult situations. Advanced proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite of office products and ability to effectively utilise an electronic document management system, such as HP Records Manager.
