Sexually Transmitted Infections Education Foundation (STIEF) is a national consumer-focused charitable organisation with a mission to promote optimal sexual health outcomes for all peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We aim to achieve this through provision of medically accurate consumer information (websites, handouts, education campaigns), a national nurse-led consumer helpline, best practice medical management guidelines, and a national database of sexual health providers.

The organisation was formed in 2001, and is an umbrella organisation providing governance and project management to the New Zealand Herpes Foundation, the New Zealand HPV Project and justthefacts.co.nz, an online resource aimed primarily at youth about sexual health and STIs.

We are looking for someone with previous successful project management and organisational experience in the not for profit sector. This is an open-ended, part-time contracted position – 20 hours a week (flexible hours) with a contracted rate of $60/hr; working from home anywhere in New Zealand.

The role is responsible for managing STIEF’s operational functions including contract management (both internal and external contracts). Maintaining business plan, quality plan and policies. Managing all financial activities. Website maintenance. Newsletter preparation.

Coordinating clinical updates of the clinical guidelines and consumer information. Coordinating national Helpline provision. Maintaining and auditing the national database of sexual health providers. Stakeholder management.

Position requirements you will be joining a small team so a self-motivated can do and will do attitude will be essential, as is a strong collaborative leadership style. Also tertiary qualification in a relevant field e.g. social sciences, communications, public health, management, etc.

Previous successful project management and organisational ability. Demonstrated commitment to working independently with a diverse group of professionals and being able to provide motivation and leadership to get the job done.

Demonstrated ability as a business manager with responsibility for a finite budget. Involvement with similar not for profit agencies and services and experience in sensitive issues e.g. managing people affected by STIs or sexual abuse.

An understanding and acknowledgement of the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Ao Māori and te reo Māori is a welcome advantage for the position. Sound strategic and operational planning skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to attend in-person meetings - approximately 3 to 4 times per year. Applicants for this position will have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
