About the role the Police Infringement Bureau (PIB) - as part of the National Road Policing Centre (NRPC) - contributes toward public trust and confidence in Police by delivering professional infringement notice processing services.
Within PIB the Adjudication Officer has responsibility for assessing and determining the appropriate resolution path for infringement offence notices. This activity involves determining whether compliance has been adequately demonstrated.
Ensuring the accuracy of information contained within the body of infringement notices. Considering the merits of explanations and circumstances, while taking into broad account the seriousness of offending, policy and practice guidelines, and previous legal precedents.
Liaising with, providing support for, and providing guidance and feedback to front-line enforcement officers. Keeping up to date with legislation, practice and policies relating to infringement offences. In this role a working knowledge and understanding of legislation, and an ability to interpret and apply policy would be beneficial.
Key accountabilities respond to enquiries from members of the public, whether in correspondence or by telephone, professionally, accurately, and in line with Police values. Assess information and conduct due diligence research, drawing from a variety of internal and external sources, to enable considered, robust, and informed determinations to be made.
Engage with various internal and external stakeholders, such as from within Police, government agencies, organisations, and various sector representative bodies. When and where appropriate, providing assistance, advice, guidance, and feedback to Police District and PIB employees and partner Government Agencies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of Road Policing and Privacy policies as well as Legislation would be beneficial but not required. Ability to problem-solve by applying sound judgement and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, experienced communicating at all levels of an organisation. Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail, and a proven ability to work to deadlines. Computer literacy with Microsoft products.
