About Breast Cancer Foundation nz established in 1994, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation (NGO) that provides breast cancer education and awareness, medical research, training grants, advocacy and supports Kiwis with breast cancer.

Our vision is zero deaths from breast cancer. Currently, over 3,500 Kiwis are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 650 die from breast cancer every year. BCFNZ’s programmes are evidence-based and overseen by its medical advisory committee.

About the role the main responsibilities of this role are to support the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal Coordinator to deliver Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s annual Pink Ribbon Street Appeal on 28 & 29 October 2022.

This is a hands-on role liaising with volunteers, local coordinators, and supporting activities in the run-up to the Foundation’s campaigns and events.

Key responsibilities prsa campaign support & planning. Work alongside the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal Coordinator to provide support to Area Coordinators, volunteers, and other key stakeholders.

Manage updates, registrations and issues within our volunteer platform. Implement and support the recruitment plan of corporate groups and community service groups. Researching new online and offline ways to promote the event and encourage more volunteers to take part.

General marketing support & social media management aiding in the development of the social media plan. Create and post content on social media. Monitor and respond to comments and messages on social media.

Analyse the effectiveness of social media posts and advertising. Make recommendations to optimise social media posting and advertising.

Communications provide phone and email support for PRSA enquiries. Assist in volunteer journey and recruitment communications. Collect stories from volunteers to be used throughout the campaign.

General Event & Marketing assistance manage the merchandising for community and Pink Ribbon community events – ordering, sourcing appropriate items, dispatching and stock control.

Working alongside the rest of the fundraising team to support other fundraising campaigns as required such as responding to enquiries, producing marketing media, merchandise, and supporting project and programme delivery where needed.

Knowledge, Skills and experience quick learner and ready to hit the ground running. Social media marketing knowledge. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organisational skills.

Have energy, initiative, and commitment. Excellent supporter stewardship / customer service skills. Confidence learning new technologies. High attention to detail and accuracy.

Reporting to as part of the Fundraising team, you will report to the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal Coordinator. The position will work closely with the fundraising team and wider BCFNZ team. This is a full-time temp role, based in our office in Parnell – starting asap until Friday 11 November.
