About Student and Scholarly services student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

About the role as the Student Recruitment Officer, you will facilitate the recruitment of high achieving prospective undergraduate students. A key focus of the role involves coordinating the University of Melbourne Extension Program (UMEP) for high achieving secondary school students.

This program allows students in Year 12 to study a first-year university subject and subsequently gain credit. Your role will also manage other programs for prospective students including the Aspiring Scholars Program - a virtual community of interstate students. You will work to support high school students in transitioning to the University and involves travel to high schools in Victoria and interstate.

Responsibilities include to coordinate, develop and deliver the University of Melbourne Extension Program (UMEP) for high achieving secondary school students. Ensure the timely enquiry management of prospective and current Extension Program students, including coordinating a range of presentations and events on campus to promote the Program to prospective students.

Manage selection and engagement of Aspiring Scholars, a virtual program to attract high achieving interstate students. Act as primary liaison contact between Onshore Recruitment and the University’s Future Student Enquiries team.

About you you will be dedicated and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their educational goals. You will have fantastic communication skills with strong attention to detail and will draw on your advanced organisational skills to manage your time effectively. As a collaborator, you work well in teams and have an innovative approach to implementing new strategies to improve policies across the University.

You will also have a degree with relevant experience; or extensive experience and broad knowledge of the field; or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and/or education and training.

A commitment to service excellence by striving to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of the delivery; and value working collaboratively, connecting with people, and building relationships in your workplace. Knowledge of the Australian higher education sector and secondary schools’ community, and interest in working with high-achieving students. Demonstrated experience in the field of customer service, communications, marketing and/or event organization.
