About us Queensland Law Society (QLS) is the professional body for legal practitioners, representing more than 14,000 members state-wide. We lead the Solicitors of Queensland with our purpose of Good Law - Good Lawyers - Public Good.

About the role QLS has a full-time or part time (4 days p/w) and permanent opportunity for an Admissions Assistant to join the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board (the Board) team. Reporting to the Solicitor and Secretary to the Board, the Admissions Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Secretary and the team by reviewing and processing applications for admission.

The position also guides and assists applicants for admission. Provides administrative support to the team. Updates and maintains database and admission statistics. Organises and arranges distribution of agenda papers for Board meetings. Attends to banking requirements for the team.

Ideally you will have experience in a similar administrative role in a professional services environment. Exemplary customer service skills to respond efficiently to applicants to provide an effective service. High level proof reading, time management and attention to detail skills. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in an organised, systematic manner to perform high volumes of work and manage competing tasks and deadlines. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including applicants for admission, senior managers, members and staff. Qualifications in legal administration, business administration or a related discipline are desirable.
