About the role we have an exciting opportunity for an Intelligence Support Officer to join the newly established National Security Systems team, based within the Security Intelligence Group, National Intelligence Centre (NIC). The purpose of this team is to work across the NIC, National Security Group and Districts to drive the development of systems and an operating approach to enable staff to understand national security threats and manage the risk.

The ISO role is responsible for supporting the administration, management, and future development of the National Security Person of Interest (POI) Operating Framework and case management system (the IMT NatSec Portal). The NatSec Portal is the central hub for the management of national security risk across New Zealand Police. This role will be focused on providing administrative, technical, and operational support to staff working in the portal as well as supporting quality assurance and reporting functions. This position is subject to rotation within the Security Intelligence Group.

Key accountabilities ability to extract and analyse data and information from various sources. Strong experience using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the Investigation Management Tool (IMT). Research, collect and conduct preliminary analysis to identify and highlight emerging trends/issues/risks.

Produce intelligence products to assist decision makers. Ability to present and communicate, in both written and verbal form.Develop and maintain a range of positive relationships (internal and external). Ability to maintain a high quality of work while managing multiple demands. Provide ongoing support to your team; have a strong team focus.

Special requirements New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or a permanent NZ resident. Hold a full driver licence or be able to complete early in employment.
