Melbourne Zoo is currently seeking a Pest Control officer to join the Nursey, Browse & Pest Control team.

This position will perform the following tasks work within the Sustainability and Environment department as part of the Horticultural Nursery, Browse, Pest Control team. Monitoring of rodent bait stations - respond to any calls regarding the placement and condition of bait stations. Work with all departments, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are engaged. Maintain a list of rodent mortality, and record information on any rodent pest related activity.

Arrange and oversee the extermination of wasp nests using the services of a pest control contractor. Monitor fox/cat activity from CCTV footage and if required arrange for interventions from external contractors. Possum capture manually from within buildings with the assistance of vet keepers and/or keepers in general and/or PCR.

Keep a record of all activities, responses and pest related incidents. Act as a subject matter expert for the organization in relation to Pest Control. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with pest control and understand the importance of the control of pests and feral predators.
