About the organization children First is a not-for-profit organisation that provides preschool, long day care, occasional care, before and after school care, and vacation care services in the Blacktown area. It operates out of six sites and approximately 700 children attend these services in any week.

In addition to providing childcare services from its own centres, Children First, which is a service of Growing Potential, is funded to operate family support services to centres, families and children across Western Sydney. We are currently recruiting for a Customer Experience Officer to work across two Outside School Hour centres located in Hassall Grove and Blacktown, NSW. The part - time position is 24 hours a week with working days negotiable.

Please note you must have a drivers licence and own car as travel between services will be required, you will receive a fuel reimbursement for this. You must have, or be willing and able to obtain, a current Working with Children and Police check.

About the opportunity reporting to the Centre Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the customer experience for both potential and existing families and ensuring the consistent and efficient provision of all internal and external processes and reporting.

More specifically, some of your key duties will include attending to all incoming email, phone and web-based enquiries and personal attendances. Providing a customer-focused approach that helps clients find solutions to their needs, including appropriate referrals to internal divisions.

Handling initial customer complaints and escalating issues to the appropriate staff members as required. Assisting the Manager in developing relevant marketing content for new projects and managing social media presence. Accurately managing enrolments and occupancy of rooms. Keeping accurate and up-to-date financial records and regularly reporting on this information as required and performing other reasonable ad hoc administrative duties as required.

About you to be successful in this role you will be an energetic and flexible team player with a high attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage your time around conflicting deadlines and priorities.

Importantly, you will be a passionate individual who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to allow you to work effectively with staff, parents and other external stakeholders. Your sympathetic personality and high emotional intelligence will enable you to relate to clients from a mix of cultures and backgrounds and allow you to understand the complex feelings that working parents may have about childcare.

You will be confident learning and using a range of computer systems and software and be able to perform a range of basic functions in Microsoft Excel. Previous experience in early childhood / Outside School Hours or a demonstrated understanding of childcare subsidies and systems is an advantage but not essential.

In addition, you will be a genuinely motivated individual who is dedicated to your own professional development and will ideally have a qualification or certificate in a relevant field, although this is not essential.
